Please excuse any glare in the photos. This large, blown glass bottle stands approximately 8 5/8 inches tall, and it has a maximum width of about 4 1/2 inches. Unpacked, this heavy piece weighs 6 pounds 4.8 ounces. This complex glass piece consists of clear, red, white, and black glass with gold inclusions.
The decoration resembles an abstract landscape. The ball stopper has a dauber which inserts into the bottle. This would be a fine addition to a collection of contemporary art glass.Identification This Flacon Red Paysages piece is by the glass artist, Jean-Claude Novaro (1943 - 2014). Novaro was born in Antibes, France. When he was fourteen years old, he apprenticed in Biot under Eloi Monod. Novaro was a master of glass at age twenty, and he had his own glass factory at age thirty. He was an award-winning artist; he won the French government's Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of Arts and Humanities).
His work is in museums around the world, as well as in many private collections. Condition The bottle is in fine condition, with no cracks or post-production chips. It has very light wear beneath. A fine 3/16 inch scratch to the side does not detract.
